The Health District is geographically the basic unit for the supplementation of health services to the populations. It is the functioning level by which the health policy is applied in our country. Despite the significant resources mobilized to sit health goals, most programs have never achieved the desired results. One of the challenges for the implementation of these activities is the continue lack of an approach to cntinuously measure the improvement of health services at the health district and ensure the achievement of objectives by the programs.
Our objective was to assess the level of implementation of health activities in rural health centers of Dschang Health District in 2014 to determine the gap of implementation of planned activities.
A survey was conducted on a sample of 35 health centers distributed in 18 rural health areas having operated continuously in 2014, using a questionnaire and a collection form of certain data in monthly reports activities of these centers.
We obtained as results relative geographical accessibily of populations to health facilities on an average radius of 2.84 km, low utilisation of curative services of about 0.14 contact/capita/year, a utilization rate prenatal services by 22% of pregnant women, resulting in a utilization rate of 21% oh TPI2+, HIV testing among pregnant women 24% and the rate of delivery in health facilities by 24% of them. Vaccination coverage of 77% for penta 3, 73% for VAR, for specific drop rate of 4% and 27% for VAT2+.
To this, we recommend to decision-makers in the health sector to systematize the assessment of all health district in order to identify bottlenecks in the way of improving health indicators.
