Driving from Conference Of the Parties number 21 in Paris in November 2015 on climate change, many sectors like Agriculture, Health and Environment in Africa appear to be more affected from climate change consequences. Cameroon, one of the concerned African country has Agriculture as the mainstay of its Economy and particularly in the west Region of the Country where more than 80% of Inhabitants are skilled Farmers who exploit every Strip of Land. Therefore, come a need to address the following questions: Which changes in Crops production have already occurred in West Region due to climate change? Which Health Problems linked to climate change impact on Agriculture have occurred from 2005 till 2015?
The main aim of this study was to search how climate change has affected Crop production in the west region of Cameroon from 2005 till 2015 and how it has influenced on the Health of Inhabitants in that particular Region. . Survey on Food borne Diseases related to climate change impact on Agriculture was conducted in Regional Hospitals by interviewing Doctors.
The Result of this study shows that due to Climate change crop production hast significantly drop down by 40% associated with staple food shortages, malnutrition. To increase theirs production Farmers use Pesticides and Insecticides that contain chemical, toxins which lead to food contamination that increase the incidence of Food-borne Diseases in the Region.
Adaptive actions may be taken to overcome adverse effects of climate change like introduction of later- maturing crop varieties or species, concept of eco-friendly farming, conserving soil moisture through appropriate tillage methods, and improving irrigation efficiency. Programs to educate basic Pesticide and Insecticides use,to ensure long-term food security and environmental safety need to be promoted.Regular monitoring and surveillance systems of Food-borne Diseases.
